Rafaela Lima presents a solo intervention "Instructions for an imagined landing", an ending exercise to complete a journey at Street View.
The image shows a sign from an U.S. former hangar used for military training: The pilot depends on you. Almost as if the beliefs deposited in these flying machines could be heard through messages of hope. The poetic request, as far as you can imagine, leads to the set of objects that can be seen at Fisga Warehouse from 14th September to 2nd November 2024.
Rafaela Lima (Oliveira de Azeméis, 1999) is a visual artist based in Porto, Portugal. It is through theoretical-practical research that Rafaela has been developing her studies on image making processes and its effect on collective imagery. Rafaela holds a MFA in Intermedia from Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (PT). Since 2019 she has worked and participated in multiple exhibition projects such as “Além-mundo pleno de mundos” (solo exhibition at INSTITUTO, Porto, 2024), “Eu vi o Brilho” (collective exhibition at O Bueiro, Porto, 2023), “Laboratorre” (artistic residence Laboratório Eng.
