I'm José, born in Porto, outgoing to those I already know and shy to those I don't. I fell into this profession a little by the force of life, I lived in England where I had to work in bars and restaurants to pay the bills, where I gradually learnt to appreciate and value those who made art behind the bar. 

I returned to Portugal, where I went to the hotel and tourism school in Porto and worked in various bars where I began to add my own personal touch to the world of the bar and cocktails. I have a background in visual arts and theatre, which I've decided not to pursue for now, but the creative bug is always here and it's in the bar that I now find some voice to express myself. I love the taste above the show, I love combining flavours and discovering new techniques. I've been to a lot of bars and restaurants, some of which no longer exist, but at the moment you can find me at Boa Bao porto.
